In Mathews County, Virginia, a man was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a shooting incident that damaged a Dominion Energy transformer. The event took place on December 23, 2025, around 9:30 p.m. on Cricket Hill Road and Buckley Hall Road.
Surveillance footage revealed a male suspect firing a pistol at the transformer. This act led to an oil leak and a minor power outage, with damages estimated to exceed $6,000.
Deputies collected ballistic evidence from the scene. Following a residential search warrant executed on February 2, 2026, evidence was recovered, leading to the arrest of Robert Logan Diggs, 45.
Diggs has been charged with reckless firearm handling and property damage exceeding $1,000. He is currently held at the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center without bond as the investigation continues.
