Summary
- Two children were safely recovered after an Amber Alert was issued.
- Suspect faces attempted murder charges after shooting a woman.

An Amber Alert initiated in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, has concluded with the safe return of two abducted children, aged 4 and 6. The alert was issued on March 20 following an incident at the Rodeway Inn on New Cut Road, where authorities allege Juan Carlos Morales shot a woman and then took the children.
Morales, 30, was apprehended in Towns County, Georgia, after his vehicle was detected by FLOCK cameras. The children were found safe at the time of his arrest. Morales has since waived extradition and was returned to Spartanburg County on March 23.
He is now awaiting a bond court appearance on Tuesday afternoon, where he will face charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. The criminal case against Morales proceeds in South Carolina, while the immediate emergency phase of the Amber Alert has ended with the children's safe recovery.
