The journalist explained at the 12th Annual Better Brothers Los Angeles Truth Awards that a traffic diversion due to the Los Angeles marathon prevented him from visiting a friend living near Rihanna.
Lemon stated it was pure luck he avoided the incident, as his friend's house also sustained damage. The alleged shooter, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, faces significant charges, including attempted murder, assault with a semi-automatic firearm, and shooting into an inhabited dwelling. Ortiz could face life in prison if convicted.
While Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, their three children, and other family members were on the property, the DA confirmed they were in an airstream trailer. Ortiz also allegedly fired on a neighbor's home. Bail for Ortiz was set at $1,875,000, with orders to stay away from the victims and surrender firearms.
